The Polo Gioya shirt in Polycotton hi-tech UV select, is an extremely light fabric which is breathable and antibacterial and selects the sun's rays: it blocks out the dangerous rays whilst allowing the beneficial rays (responsible for tanning and vitamin D) to filter through. The garment works along the same principles as a protective suntan lotion.

Breathability -
Two environments are artificially created with different hygrometric conditions and vapour is forced through the fabric, after which vapour penetration is measured, with the result expressed in grams of water vapour per sq meters of fabric in 24 hours.
UVA Ray Protection -
Meryl © microfibre acts as a barrier, filtering the sun\'s rays which are harmful to the skin and affording protection four times greater than that offered by polyester and twice that of cotton. This fabric has obtained Uva certification from the Institut Textile de France.
