Miami ORC: Gold & Silver for SLAM
SLAM garments were worn aboard the 49er crewed by U.S. team members Morgan Larson and Pete Spaulding, who took Gold at the Miami pre-Olympics, and by the Italian, Flavia Tartaglini - silver in the Olympic RS:X windsurfing class.
The Americans won wearing "Scaldina Roubaix" in the acrobatic 49er class, a full 8 points ahead of those in second place. Flavia Tartaglini, from Rome, won silver thanks to a top class performance in the medal race which put her in second place close behind the Spaniard, Marina Alabau.
The Miami Olympic class regattas, which started off the 2007 season, saw the participation of 855 athletes hailing from 49 countries.
